The course covers the topics of power circuits and power devices highlighting the interaction between the two.
The most important circuits for power conversion are presented, analyzed, and simulated. The course also presents the characteristics and the evolution of the power semiconductor devices exploited in power conversion applications.
Target of the lectures is the analysis and design of high efficiency power conversion circuits. The comprehension and calculation of the ratings and the operating limits for the power circuits and power semiconductor devices. The calculation of the performance of the circuits. Understanding of the possible fields of application for the power devices available on the market.
